The True Meaning of BSing

Sean K = me, Sean Kneese. I originally started this podcast as simply a space for traditional interviews with artists and other creative types. As I started bringing on increasing numbers of diverse guests, the show organically developed its own theme: I converse with people who think and live outside the box and are pursuing their creative and intellectual passions. They are non-conformists: people who go against the grain and follow their own path. I also like to provide a platform for opinions that aren't often heard in the mainstream media, and prefer to keep a conversational feel to my interviews. I enjoy talking to all different kinds of people from all walks of life and I hope that my podcast can show that we all have more in common than we think, even if it might not always seem that way on the surface.

Episode 120: Discussing Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and more with Multimedia Artist and Photographer Katelyn Kopenhaver

In this episode of BS’ing with Sean K, Sean Kneese talks to photographer and multimedia artist Katelyn Kopenhaver. One of her projects is: “She was Last Seen”, where she spray paints: SHE WAS LAST SEEN (a statement often written in news articles related to missing persons cases) on mattresses she finds on the street. Kopenhaver attacks these mattresses aggressively, takes a momento, and discards them - paralleling the dark reality experienced by victims of violent crime. As of late, Katelyn has placed mattresses in site specific locations contingent upon historical areas of crime and abuse. Kopenhaver also has a strong interest in the notorious Jeffrey Epstein case and created a banner that reads “Epstein is the Worst Kind of Virus” which she has displayed at various locations relevant to the case. Within photography, Kopenhaver considers herself a blend between an anthropologist and a journalist - sometimes making photographs and sometimes seeing photographs. Portraiture especially holds a unique and special place because of the collaboration it entails of photographer, camera, and subject. Kopenhaver has been published and exhibited both nationally and internationally, including Metal Magazine, Article 22, Pen + Brush, The Brooklyn Rail, and ABC News. Her photography clients include Netflix, New York Magazine, Interview Magazine, Culture Trip, Havas Group, and others. Kopenhaver graduated from SVA in 2016 where she studied photography. She is originally from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in New York, New York. Paypal: Zelle: Venmo: @Sean-kneese

Episode 119: Jewish and Palestinian Solidarity, Sheikh Jarrah, The West Bank, Gaza, and Palestinian Rights with Activists Awdah Al-Hathalean and Sam Stein

In this episode of BS’ing with Sean K , Sean Kneese talks to activists Awdah Al-hathalean and Sam Stein about Gaza, Sheikh Jarah, The West Bank and the struggle for Palestinian rights. Awdah and Sam met while Sam was with a group called Jewish Center for Non-Violence. He stayed with Awdah in his home in the Palestinian village of El Kherson for several months and celebrated Ramadan with him and his family. He was with Awdah and other Palestinians as they were being attacked by radical settlers. Sam talks about growing up in an Orthodox Jewish household, and how he started to become more critical of Israeli policy towards Palestinians as he got older. Awdah talks about life in his village El Kherson, life for people in Gaza and the human rights abuses Palestinians face on a regular basis. He also talks about how meeting Sam and other Jewish people fighting for Palestinian rights changed his perspective as well. Since their first meeting, Sam and Awdah have become best of friends and are living proof that Jews and Palestinians can stand together for justice.
